How have you all been? How is summer already over?!
Traveling to Switzerland for my Brother's wedding, then returning via Thailand, catching up with work and then getting sick... September was one mess of a month all in all!
(But... so much inspiration!)
So, first things first:
I am so sorry for not sending out the September newsletter with its printables! Had a hard disc with all the necessary files with me on the trip but... well, let's just say that taking hard discs along on trips isn't the best idea. #RIP
Hopefully, I can make it up to you with some extra downloadable stickers this month. Scroll on~
I was SO EXCITED to visit Thailand!
While I fly from Korea to Switzerland and back nearly every year (it's been getting less frequent...), I've rarely visited other countries during the last five years. A night at an airport in Helsinki, maybe, or one evening in Paris before taking the connecting flight to Switzerland, but that never feels the same as actually traveling there! My last trip abroad in that sense was four years ago when I had to renew my visa by flying to Taiwan for two days.
I love traveling, sketching, trying new food, visiting museums or parks, discover nature... so this vacation was everything I wished for! More blog posts to follow - sketchbook outtakes and so many vegan Thai food pictures!
What I'd forgotten about traveling was how time-intensive it is. Seriously. Usually, when visiting my family in Switzerland, I just take my work with me and function normally in-between socializing. Nothing much left to discover in my hometown, eh?
This time, though, I didn't get anything done.
Do you make plans for sketching, or working, or blogging, or even exercising when you travel? Because if you do and manage to stick to those plans, tell me your secret!
Both the week in Switzerland and the week in Thailand resulted in a couple of sketches and rushed emails. I'd overestimated my time-management, seriously. Jet lags, weddings and having no wifi ANYWHERE didn't help, either.
I attacked my to-do list with new focus once we returned to Jeju. Getting back into a routine and habits and actually planning my days sure makes a big difference!
These summer vacation illustrations were nearly done before I left, but I quickly added some finishing touches and turned them into stickers. They're inspired by my wanderlust, summer vacation, Korean fashion and just pretty stuff (TM).
Love how the colors turned out bright and soft at the same time, somehow.
Does that even make sense? Nope.
Also, what would you wear? I'm into slacks and loose tops lately, so girl #4 from the left maybe?
I also loved getting back to using my bullet journal. My weeks have so much more structure whenever I put them in writing. I'd played with the thought of journaling while traveling, but went with just sketching and pictures instead - so opening my Bujo once I got home felt like a new chapter had just begun!
By now, I've caught up with my freelance work, beaten a nasty cold, added lots of new stickers to my Etsy shop, and am ready to start blogging again.
(Psst, I've also managed to finally get my hands on transparent sticker paper and will update all. the. things. soon!)
The printable file for my Summer Vacation stickers will be in the digital library during October for all my newsletter subscribers. Thank you for sticking around!
And of course, Cat Advice! Catvice.
Halloween is coming up, but since I don't celebrate it myself, I kinda don't get the hype. Instead, October is all about snuggling in for the coming colder months. Bring out the scented candles, pumpkin spice and sweaters.
The Cat Advice digital wallpaper...
... and the printable calendar. I hope you like them!
